Curator's comments
This watercolour depicts the same site of an ink drawing on a duplicate engraving (08.060) of Raffles' "The History of Java" in the Baker Collection, at the Royal Asiatic Society. Annotated in pencil at the bottom: "Remains of a Gateway at Majapahit called Gapura Jati Paser. This is in the History of Java." The site is now identified as Candi Wringin Lawang.
Called Chandi Pasar in earlier database records, but where this information originated is unclear.
